Describing the event (renaming ladies’ college after Akka Mahadevi) as historical, Mr. Siddaramaiah said that his government has written to the Union government looking for consent to name the Central University in Kalaburagi B.R. Ambedkar. “We additionally need to name Gulbarga University after the 12th-century social reformer Basaveshwara. In the coming days, we can think of naming all different universities inside the State after social reformers,” he stated.
