The educational institutes take plagiarism seriously and consider it an act to harms their academic integrity. If an institution encourages plagiarism or fails to take proper action against it, it may earn a bad reputation. It may decrease the number of international students.

Thus, most institutions have strict rules, and they may include some terms regarding plagiarism in their educational policies. If a student submits a plagiarized content for their term paper, the institute can give them a failing term. After repeated allegations of plagiarism, they can expel the student. It can impact the student’s career.

Therefore the graders can let them know about plagiarism, types, citations, ways of citation, and more. They can also address the students’ queries about plagiarism, what to cite and what not to. The students should also know the consequences of plagiarism. The educators may also suggest to them how to work on their papers to avoid plagiarism.

They can also ask the student to use a plagiarism checker to scan their paper before submitting it. They can also introduce the students to different citation styles, including all the required information like the name of the work, author, edition, publication date, and other such things. A proper citation can help a student to stay away from plagiarism.

2. Establish the rules

While making the students aware of plagiarism, the grader or the educational institute must also create some rules that mention plagiarism’s consequences. Though every educational institute has some educational policies where they include specific plagiarism rules, they can also add some more strict rules to prevent the students from plagiarising.

The graders need to consider that ensuring the implementation of the rules regarding plagiarism is also essential. If a grader finds out plagiarised content in a student’s copy, they must warn them and act against it. If there are repeated plagiarism charges against a student, the grader can take severe action against the student.

3. Assign detailed tasks

Since cheating and plagiarism are related hence, the students need to be careful about it.

The tools also highlight the copied parts while mentioning the source of those parts. The student can easily do the citation, which helps them to create plagiarism-free content.
